I’m a resident!

I got my temporary resident Visa! Now I must stay in Ecuador for the next 2 years and at the end I can apply for my permanent resident visa. I believe I’m allowed to leave the country for 90 days in total during those two years, but I have no intention of going anywhere. I love it here.

I celebrated by going to the mall and getting a $7 haircut and buying myself a good $6 bottle of white wine, which is chilling in the freezer as we speak. Don’t let me forget it’s in there.

My new apartment is AMAZING. I have barely any furniture in it yet, but little by little. It’s cheaper to have solid wood furniture custom made here than it is to buy manufactured here, so I’ll be doing that one piece at a time.

I did buy some house plants to warm the place up a bit. I went from a one-bedroom, one-bath to a two-bedroom, three-bath with an extra mini room in the middle, sort of like a fat hallway with a nook. I’ve decided to make that my art studio / office because it has a nice view off the patio.

Also a bit of bad news: My company has folded, and I’m looking for work again. It wasn’t a huge surprise because it was so terribly managed, but still, it’s quite disappointing. I’m taking this opportunity and merging it with our new AI World by creating digital art with AI and selling the printables on Etsy. I’m hoping for just enough passive income to live comfortably here, so about $3000 a month. I think I can do that. What do you think?
