A day at the park

I got sunburned–again. I really have to start wearing sunscreen.

A small child could crawl in there and be completely hidden.

Parque Tarqui is a beautiful and somewhat enormous park across the street from my building. I did a little magnet fishing there but didn’t “catch” a thing! Not even garbage. Big Picture, that’s a good thing.
This is sort of halfway through, just before this crazy bridge.
I didn’t notice until I took a few steps, but it has a bunch of broken planks with nails sticking out, and the entire bridge bounces when you walk on it, as you can see when this pup comes up to me for pets.

I love that you can camp in a city park! And what a beautiful setting.

And this is the family side. There are these lovely individual cooking and camping areas–One couple had set up a tent! Families are playing soccer, dogs and kids are playing, but no one is disorderly or loud. I didn’t see a single beer can! No one is playing loud music. People even waved and said “Buen dia!” as I walked by. When was the last time someone you didn’t know waved and said “Good day!” as you walked through a park in the US?

Ecuadorians are lovely people.
